Ingredients:
1 kg fish (any fish with firm, white flesh) cut into medium-thick slices
3 tbsps ginger paste
3 tbsps garlic paste
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp Ajwain seeds
1 tsp chilli powder
Salt to taste
Lime Juice 2 Tablespoon
1 1/2 cups Besan (bengal gram flour)
Oil to shallow fry fish
Lime wedges
Instructions:
1. In a bowl add the Besan ,ginger paste,garlic paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, chilli powder and ajwain seeds.
2. Make a thick paste from this mixture ( you can add some lime juice if needed while making the paste)
3. Gently fold the fish in this paste and coat the mixture evenly on both sides of the fish.
4. Leave the fish to marinate for an hour.
5. Take a flat and wide pan , heat some for shallow fry ing.
6. Shallow fry the fish till each piece is golden and crisp on both sides.( If you wish you could deep fry the fish)
7. Serve hot with lime juice and some sliced onions dipped in vinegar or lime juice .
Serve it with Naan , Rice or Roti
