Ingredients:
1. Moong Dal 100 grams
2. Ghee 200 grams
3. Sugar 150 grams
4. Choti Elayichi Powder (Cardamom Powder) 1/4 Teaspoon
5. Pista ( Pistachio unsalted) 2 Tablespoons
6. Almonds - cut
7. Cashew nuts - cut
8. Khoya ( Mawa ) or Condensed Milk 100 grams
Instructions:
1.Soak the Moong Dal in plenty of water for about 2 hours or more.
2. Take the Dal out and grind it into a paste, use a little water if needed while grinding.
3. Take a thick bottomed pan and heat the ghee.
4. Add the Moong Dal paste in the ghee.
5. Keep on stirring continuously while cooking for about 20 minutes or so till the colour tends to change to browning red.
6. Add the sugar, cardamom powder and the nuts.
7. Also add the Khoya(Mawa ) or the condensed milk.
8. Stir for 2 more minutes and remove from the heat.
Garmish it some more green pistachios and almonds and cashews.
Server hot.
TIP: If the condensed milk is already sweet then reduce the amount of sugar you add in step 6.
Khoya is not readily available in overseas countries, therefore try using the sweet condensed milk.
However Khoya alternatives can be prepared at home
