Ingredients:
Ingredients
2 large ripe healthy tomatoes
4 cups water or top water of boiled dal (stock)
2 whole red chillies
10 Curry Leaves
1/2 cup green mint leaves
1/2 cup Green Coriander Chopped
1-2 flakes garlic grated
2-3 pinches clove-cinnamon powder
1/2 tsp. sambar masala
8-10 peppercorns
1 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
2 pinches ( Heeng ) asafoetida
1 marble sized ball of jaggery or 1/2 tsp. sugar
Tamarind Pulp 1/2 cup
1 tbsp. oil
salt to taste
Instructions:
1. Take a Sauce pan and put some water on the heat and put two tomatoes in boiling water, simmer for 3 minutes.
2. Keep these tomatoes in the hot water aside for 5 minutes.
3. Take a fry pan and heat 1/4 tsp. oil
4. Add pepper corns and stir
5. Add 1 tsp. cumin seeds and stir and roast till it changes colour and starts giving the aroma.
6. Remove from the pan and let it cool and then grind coarsly.
7. Remove the tomotoes from the water, peel away the outer skin.
8. Add the Jaggery and salt and make a fine paste of the tomatoes in a blender.
9. Take a fry pan and add some oil in it and heat.
10. Add the Whole Red Chillies and roast.
11. Add the Clove and Cinamon Powder.
12. Add the Mustard Seeds and roast till they start crackling.
13. Add the Asafoetida and stir.
14. Add the Sambhar Powder and fry.
15. Add the Curry leaves and stir.
16. Add the Tomatoe paste which you prepared above in step 8
17. Add some stock water to dilute it and bring to boil.
18 Add the stock water and heat.
19. Add the Peper Corn and Cumin Seeds which you roasted and grounded it step 6.
20. Add the Gresh mint and coriander.


Have it piping hot.
