Ingredients:
-2 Big Tomatoes ( cut into 4 pieces)
-1 onion, finelychopped
-4 cloves garlic, crushed
-4 green chillies, chopped
-2 tablespoon of tamarind
-1 tbsp jaggery ( Gur)
-1 tsp mustard seeds
-10 curry leaves
-1 dried red chilli, broken into two
-1 tsp coriander pwoder ( Dry Fry the seeds and powder them)
-1 tsp cuminseed Powder (Dry Fry the seeds and powder them)
-2 tsps peppercorns powder ( Dry Fry them and powder them)
-½ tbsps oil
2 pinches of Heeng ( asafoetida)
Instructions:
1.Extract the pulp of tamarind by soaking it in a cup of hot water and leave it aside in a bowl.
2. Take 4 cups of water and put it in a pot for boiling.
3. Add the tomatoes, chillies and garlic .
3. Add the ground spices
4. Add the jaggery
5. Add the tamarind pulp and simmer for 15 minutes and keep aside.
6.Take a small fry pan and put some oil and heat.
7. Add the mustard seeds and fry them till they start crackling.
8. Add the dry red chilli.
9. Add the curry leaves
10 Add the Asafeotida Powder.
11. Add the finely diced onion and fry for a minute or two.
12. Now add this mixture to the liquid which we have prepared in step 5
13. Simmer for 5 minutes on low heat.



Serve hot as a soup.
This is a good accompaniment with other dishes like rice and sambar.
