The diet to reduce your blood pressure and increase the heart health is the one which lowers your cholesterol .
In the 80s the scientists told us that all the fat has to be avoided to keep healthy, today we know that it is only the saturated fats which are to avoided for keeping healthy and to reduce the bad Chole sterol.
Dairy foods, paneer, meat, coconut oil, Desi Ghee all contain saturated fats. Try to use lean meat and low fat dairy products whenever possible.
Trans fats are also the fats which are to be avoided at all costs. Trans fat (also known as trans fatty acid s) is a specific type of fat formed when liquid oils are made into solid fats like shortening and hard margarine . However, a small amount of trans fat is found naturally, primarily in some animal-based foods.
Trans fat is made when hydrogen is added to vegetable oil -- a process called hydrogenation. Hydrogenation increases the shelf life and flavor stability of foods containing these fats.
Vegetable shortenings, some margarine s, crackers cookies, snack foods, and other foods made with or fried in partially hydrogenated oils.
When the oil used for fry ing the chips, samosas and pakoras are used again and again, ( this is normal thing in a restaurant, do not be fooled that they throw the oil each day after fry ing, it is normally used again and again.
Trans fat behaves like saturated fat by raising low-density lipoprotein (LDL or "bad") cholesterol that increases your risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). Trans fat can be found in some of the same foods as saturated fat, such as vegetable shortenings, some margarine s, crackers, candies, cookies, snack foods, fried foods, baked goods, and other processed foods made with partially hydrogenated vegetable oils.
Remember that the crunchier your biscuits or cookies usually the chances are that they will have more Trans fats.
Transfats are used in industry to increase the shelf life of the products and to make them crunchier.
