Ingredients:
This is a quick variety of Pulav for the Bachelors who are new to cooking ..

Rice 2 cup
Frozen Peas 1 cup
Diced Carrots 1/2 cup
Corn 1/2 cup
Gobhi ( Cauliflower) florets 5
Heeng ( Asoefetida) 1 pinch
Jeera ( Cumin Seeds) 1 teaspoon
Red Chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon
Haldi ( Turmeric) 1/2 teaspoon
Garam Masala 1 Teaspoon
Cooking Oil 2 tablespoons
Salt to taste

Note: If you have fozen mixed vegetables which are already diced, then just use that.
Instructions:
1. Wash the rice and keep aside.
2. Meanwhile boil some water in a kettle and blanch all the vegetables for a minute.
3. Heat the oil in a thick bottomed pan ( big enough to cook the rice) on medium heat
4. Add the Jeera,Red chilli, Garam Masala and fry for a minute ( Do not burnt it).
5. Add the haldi ( turmeric)
6. Now add all the vegetables.
7. Add the rice as well.
8. Stir for 2 minutes until the rice tend to stick to the bottom.
9. Add some water to cover the rice and veges under the water.
10. Add the salt and cover the pan.
11. Reduce the heat to the slow.
12. Come back after 10 minutes and the Pulav will be ready.


Note: This is a quick one for the bachelors only, when you are hard pressed for time, effort and skills :-)

There is no ginger or Garlic used , just to avoid time and hastle :-))
We have used Heeng (Asoefetida) instead.

Have it with Dahi ( yoghurt) or mint chutney and Pickle.
