Ingredients:
400 gms of Paneer (cottage cheese), cut into 1-inch cubes
1 large green Shimla Mirch ( bell pepper or Green Capsicum), chopped 1/2 inch squares
1 large onion, sliced
2 tomatoes diced
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 tbsp yoghurt
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tbsp chopped green chillies
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp cumin powder salt, to taste
1 cup water
1 tbsp cooking oil
1 tablespoon fresh chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
1. Take a heavy bottomed pan and heat the oil and then add the cumin seeds.
2. Once it starts to sizzle, add chopped green chillies and sliced onions.
3. Fry till onions start to brown and then add ginger-garlic paste and tomatoes.
4. Cook till tomatoes tenderize and start to pulp.
5. Remove from heat and add the yoghurt and mix well and then put back on heat.
6. Add the coriander powder
7. Add the cumin powder.
8. Add red chili powder
9. Add turmeric powder.
10.Cook for a minute or two till spices blend in.
11. Add tomato paste and salt and cook for a few minutes till sauce thickens.
12. Add the Bell Pepper ( and cook for 6-7 minutes). Add a bit of water if needed ( do not make the sauce very runny)
13. Add the paneer cubes now.
14. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves .
Serve it with Naan , Rice or Roti
