Ingredients:
Karela 4
Onion 1 finely diced
Onion 1 grinded to paste
Ginger and Garlic paste 2 tsp
Jeera 1/2 tbsp
Green Chilli fined chopped
Red chilli powder 1/2 tspn
Garam Masala 1 tsp
Salt to taste
some cotton thread to tie the Karelas
Cooking oil 4 tbsp

For Gravy
Yoghurt 4 tsp
Coriander Powder 1/2 tsp
Mace Powder ( Javitri) 1/4 tsp
Turmeric 1/4 tsp

Instructions:
1. Add 2 tbsp oil in the pan and heat.
2. Add 1/2 tbsp cumin
3. Add the chopped onion and fry for a minute.
4. Add the Garam Masala.
4. Add the ginger Garlic paste 1 tsp and fry till everything turn light brown.
5. Remove from heat and add the chopped green chilli 1tsp
6. Add the red chilli powder.
7. Add some salt.

Keep this Masala aside.

Boil the Karelas for a minute in hot boiling water with 1tsp of salt.


Once the Karelas are cooled down. Slit them from one side edge to edge.

Fill the masala which you prepared above and then tie the karelas with some thread so that the Masala may not come out while frying.

Preparation for the gravy on top.

Take a mixing bowl
1.Add 4tsp yoghurt
2. Add red chilli 1/4 tsp
3. Add coriander powder 1/2 tsp
4. Add the Mace powder 1/4 tsp
5. Turmeric 1/4 tsp
6. Garlic ginger paste 1 tsp


For the gravy on top.

1. Add 1tsp oil in the pan
2. Add 2 tsp onion paste
3. saute for few minutes.
4. Once the onion paste starts to brown add the mixture which you prepared in the yoghurt.
5. Remove it from heat after a minute or so when the gravy combines together with all the ingredients.
6. Add the salt to taste.


Now we need the shallow fry the Karelas for 2 minutes.


Serving

Put the Karelas in a plate and pour the gravy on top.

Serve with Naan or Roti.



Tip: Karela is good for diabetes and is a good blood purifier.
